U.S. Outdoor Flags

  • All U.S. flags exceed U.S. government specifications for materials and construction.

  • Made with sewn stripes using double needle stitching with premium quality thread.

  • Finished with heavy white polyester canvas headings.

NYLON U.S. FLAGS
Excellent Durability

Nylon U.S. Flags are made from SolarMax™  flag material by DuPont,  the longest lasting nylon flag material available.  Quick-drying makes them great for rainy areas.  The close weave material enables the flag to fly in the slightest breeze giving the fullest visual effect.

POLYESTER U.S. FLAGS
Best Durability

Polyester U.S. Flags are made from 100% spun polyester flag material.  The 2 ply construction is the most durable flag available for extreme weather conditions.  Ideal for high wind areas.

The fly end hem is reinforced with four rows of lock stitching.  Larger flags have box stitched fly corners for extra durability.

Determining Flag Size
This guide applies to flagpoles 20' and taller

Most residential flags are 3x5' or 4x6'.  Most small commercials buildings use a 5x8' or 6x10' flag.  Larger buildings may require an 8x12' flag or larger.  The size of the flagpole is what determines the correct size flag you should fly.

The length of the flag should be at least ¼ the height of the flagpole.  Examples: A 20' flagpole should have at least a 3x5' flag (20' flagpole divided by 4 equals 5 or a 3x5' flag).  A 40' flagpole should have at least a 6x10' flag (40' flagpole divided by 4 equals 10 or a 6x10' flag).

You may always fly a larger flag than what is recommended as long as your flagpole is designed for it.  However, be aware that "over flagging" a flagpole may cause it to bend during high winds.  If you wish to fly an extra large flag we recommend that you fly a Nylon flag since it weighs less than a Polyester flag, especially when wet.  But flying a Nylon flag is still no guarantee that your flagpole will not bend during high winds.

Please see Flag Etiquette & FAQs for important information about flag care, flag life, flag holidays and flag etiquette.
